You will need a 50 peg loom
Depending on the kind of loom you have depends on the size of the hat. This was done on a Knifty Knitter 50peg Long Loom with Lions Brand Thick and Quick Yarn. The example above is a slouchy hat when wearing it. Will give suggestions as to where to stop to make a beanie hat instead.
Starting in Black
EW Cast On 50 pegs
Row 1: EW50
Row 2: P50
Now start the color works graph below E-Wrapping or Knitting (Knitting will make is twice as small)
After completing the color works graph above, decrease by every other peg and draw string cast off.
If you want to make a beanie hat rather than a slouchy hat, you can do to row 25 and then EW or Knit in straight white yarn for 1 or 2 rows, repeat the decreasing and draw string cast off.
This is a 3 section design, feel free to use a single section if you would like for a simpler hat. The piano keys would be great for a brim on any hat.
