How to Loom an Elephant

Items:
24 peg loom
looming hook
crochet hook
crafters needle
Polyfil
2 skeins of yarn
2 eyes, or buttons

Terms:
EW- E-Wrap
CO- Cast On
DSCO- Draw Sting Cast On

Head: Working Flat

Row 1-9: EW
Row 10: EW3 (Start Ear EW 6 pegs 17 rows) EW6 (Start Ear EW 6 pegs 17 rows) EW3
Row 11-16: EW
Row 17:  D1 EW D1 EW D1 EW (Bring loops together) EW12 D1 EW D1 EW D1 EW (Bring loops together)
Row 18-19: EW18

Sew up trunk, ears, and close up back of head. Stuff

Body: Work Circular

Stuff body

Legs: Work Flat
EW CO 18 pegs
Row 1-6: EW18

Sew bottom and front of leg up stuff, make 4 total.

Tail: Work Flat
DSCO 6 pegs
Row 1-6: EW6

Sew up tail

Assembling
Sew on back legs at the purled row leaving a column space between them. Then sew on front legs at top of body lined up with outer edge of back legs. Sew on head lining up trunk in between the back legs, the ears with the front legs and the back of the head back center of the body. Sew the tail on the purled row back center. Hot glue on eyes or snap in safety eyes lined up with base of trunk and inner corner of ears.

Row 10: K3 Start ear( K6 peg back and forth 17 rows) K6 next ear (K6 pegs back and forth 17 rows) K3

Sew up trunk. Draw String close back of head, and sew up ears. Stuff lightly, add the egg with the 2 bells and 10 beans in the center of the head stuff around and finish sewing up.

The Ring
EW CO 24 Pegs Working Flat
Row 1-15: K24
Fold back and place the cast on loops onto the pegs.
Toss bottom loop over and then cast off with crochet hook.
Stuff and sew up. Then sew the head on lining the ears up with the ring.
Your done.
