How to Loom Knit a Simple Mermaid



The videos above in order
The first one will help with the head of the mermaid
The second will help with the hair
The third will help with the tail fin
The fourth will help with arms and upper body. 

Simple Mermaid

Items:
12 peg loom
looming hook
crochet hook
crafters needle
polyfil
eyes
tan, fin color, hair color bulky yarn
hot glue gun

Terms:
DSCO: Draw String Cast On
CO: Cast On: Wrap the peg, then wrap the peg again, toss the bottom loop over.
EW: E-Wrap: Taking the working yarn and wrapping around the back of the peg to the front and around to the back.
PDCO: Peg Doubling Cast On, you will wrap the peg, wrap the peg again and toss the bottom loop over, then move that loop to the previous peg. Then wrap the peg you just wrapped and wrap again and toss bottom loop over. Move the stitch you made previously back to this peg. D: Decrease: Moving loop 1 to peg 2. EW2 tog: EW 2 stitches together: On the doubled stitch pegs you will have already Decreased you will simply EW and toss both loops over.
P: Purl: Pulling working yarn through the bottom of stitch, lift stitch off loom and place new stitch back on peg.
BOLB: Bring Original Loops Back: Follow the next un-worked peg and follow the connecting strand and pull the loop up directly under the connecting strand.
COF: Cast Off: EW the peg, toss bottom loop over, place stitch 1 under stitch 2 on next peg, toss bottom loop over. Then EW the stitch.  Move the stitch to under stitch 3, toss bottom loop over, EW the stitch. Repeat till no more stitches are on the loom.
CC: Change Color Yarn
T: Tan
F: Fin Color
DSCOF: Draw String Cast Off: Cut a tail and send the tail through every loop and pull the loops off and draw string them together.


Head: Circular: 12 pegs: Tan:
CO, PDCO Repeat until you have 18 stitches
Row 1-6: EW18
Row 7: EW1, EW2 tog, EW1, EW2 tog, EW, EW2 tog, EW1, EW9
Row 8-11: EW15
Row 12: EW7, EW2 tog, EW1, EW2 tog, EW1, EW2 tog
Row 13-15: EW12
Row 16: D by every other peg toss bottom loop over
DSCOF
Stuff head and gather cast on stitches to create a round head shape.

Arms: 10 pegs: Flat: Tan:
DSCO 10 pegs
Row 1-4: EW
Row 5: EW4, (thumb: EW2 5rows, BOLB) EW4
Row 6: EW
Row 7: D1 EW1, EW6, D1 EW1
Row 8-17: EW8
COF
Make 2 sew up and stuff, sew at the very top of the body on the sides. Then sew the head on.

Row 21: EW3, Start working flat, EW12 the opposite direction.
Row 22: D1 EW1, EW8, D1 EW1 (10)
Row 23: D1 EW1, EW6, D1 EW1 (8)
Row 24: D1 EW1, EW4, D1 EW1 (6)
Row 25: D1 EW1, EW2, D1 EW1 (4)
Row 26-28: EW

Sew head on to body, then sew arms at very top of body. Then make hair and sew or glue hair in. Add eyes. Embroider a bra, and add rhinestones for fun.
